Town hall is odd.
I had free tickets for ... erm ... oh yes ... Electric 6 there. about the right sort of venue for them.
Its the seats upstairs that I found funny.

So I have tickets for Regina, Tilly, Patrick and Wombats.
And £50 less money for beer.
Tempted by Noisettes, Blood Brothers, Dan Sartain, Aereogramme, Holloways, Lost Alone (from Derby! but probably crap), Bat for Lashes and Forward Russia.
Anyway a fair line-up this term, a lack of anyone amazing I've not seen at the Zodiac before but still some solid gigs.
By 'tempted' I mean I'll go if they aren't sold out and more than one other person is up for it. It'd be good if IMSoc got more free tickets.
As for all the Carling thing it means they've stopped selling Newcastle Brown which was a steal at under £3 for a decent (ie. it didn't matter that the bar staff were crap and the lines were last cleaned in 2001) pint of ale. Now I have to drink Guiness, possibly the worst example of a stout I've ever tasted. I mean it's fizzy and takes about five minutes to pour, what the fuck is all that about?

Idlewild at Brookes in March. On the cusp of when I'm probably going to be heading out of Oxford, it's on a Friday though so I'll still get tickets. Also on my ticket buying list are Tilly, Dan Sartain and Cursive if I can confimr that they are definitely supporting FR - seen conflicting reports.

Help she can't swim and Victorian english gentleman's have been added to the blood brothers and noisettes bills respectively. Might sway those for me.
Still you should have got the Wombats for Vertigo when Jessi offered....

I am now going to Blood Brothers because Greg told me to.
And I saw a video of theirs and it was rather good.

SWEET JESUS YES!
Although thinking about it, downstairs probably means no visuals. When they played upstairs they were fucking HUGE, the sound was fantastic (way better than downstair's sound could ever be) and the visuals just made it for me.
