Albums that impressed me since 2000? Um...
Feeder - Echo Park Ash - Free All Angels Terrorvision - Good to go Muse - Origin of Symmetry Therapy? - High Anxiety Pulp - We Love Life Rancid - Indestructible Green Day - American Idiot
Though I'm under no illusions about Terrorvision, Therapy? or Rancid making the list.

I am posting merely to register my boredom with the fact that DiS haven't got onto the top 20 as yet, about 2 weeks on. They keep teasing my posting "Writers Choice" and "Ones we forgot to put in that didn't make it" lists instead. Rubbish.
And 100 Broken Windows didn't make it. Honorary mention is better than nowt though I suppose. Tsk.

Comments on '20 down to 7'
- Pleasantly surprised to see 'The Ugly Organ' in there - it is a very, evry good album and should have been on my list - Kid A is sensibly placed at 16 - Were/are the Icarus Line not really really shit? - 'Turn on the bright lights' is too high at 11. Or is it? Dunno. Slightly at least. - Don't like Ryan Adams. - 'Lifted' is a good album but far too patchy / irritating in places to be anywhere near the top 10 - Trail of Dead at 8 makes good sense - 'Chutes too Narrow' is far too high at 7
I'm having trouble guessing a single one of the top 6. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Actually, looking through, there is no Flaming Lips album in there as yet. So that's probably one of the 6 ticked off.
EDIT: And Relationship of Command, obviously. I hope Nick Cave is in there.

Who are Isis?
Bloc Party are rubbish.
Fairly disappointing end to the list, I reckon.

I dunno, a DiS list was never going to cater to my tastes, but that just strikes me as a pretty uninspiring selection, the totally predictable inclusion of RoC aside.
Bloc Party are probably better than rubbish, but is Silent Alarm really in any way the third best album of this decade so far?
I kind of hoped this list might provide a bit of inspiration for thinking about what has seemed like a decade so far pretty much lacking in 'landmark' albums, and it hasn't really. The DiS approach seems quite mired in the tastes that were hanging around in the late 90s when there was nothing exciting going on in the mainstream. Paints a pretty dull picture of our musical times, I reckon. Lacking colour. Yes.
I think I'm more bothered about the fact that I'd struggle to find better choices myself...
